Everyday Style

For optimal viewing gratification, please enjoy this video while perusing my post.

Everyday Style is the theme for the August Ahead of the Curve blogging collective. Instead of putting one look together and taking photos I figured I would just snag a bunch of images from my Instagram account that have been posted over the last month or so and this would give you a decent perspective of my Everyday Style. I find it very hard to describe my style; I think it is safe to say it's alternative, but it seems to be all over the map. It could be said that my Everyday Style has multiple personality disorder. I love hair colour, makeup and accessories which all lend themselves to a constant flow of new styles and looks on a regular basis. I rarely do casual and have been known to dress up just to clean the house or walk my kids to school. I have a hard time leaving the house without styling my hair and applying makeup which I find adds a lot to my overall style. If I do venture out without a full head-to-toe look I will always be hiding behind a pair of killer shades at the least.

Look One

 Look Two

Flea market shopping with my family and dinner out.

Look Three

 Look Four

Thrift store shopping and a picnic with my kids.

 Look Five

Look Six
Play day at the park with friends.

So as you can probably tell from my day to day activities, I'm pretty much your typical stay-at-home mama with a not so typical sense of style. I always try to look my best no matter if I'm taking the kids to the park or if I'm out to lunch with a friend. Life is too short and there are way too many beautiful things to wear for me to waste my days in yoga pants and a tee shirt. No hate if that's your thing, but it's just not for this Mama.

If you would like more information on any of the clothing, makeup, or accessories that I'm wearing in my photos please leave me a comment below. There were too many items for me to link them all in this post.

Candy Strike Beautiful Creatures

Recently I received a marvelous surprise in the mail from the lovely and talented Elizabeth Denneau of Candy Strike. Elizabeth sent me a sneak peek of one of the items in her upcoming collection called Beautiful Creatures. If you're not a frequent shopper of Candy Strike let me give you the run down. Elizabeth Denneau is a bad ace artist who has been designing fashion for woman of all shapes and sizes for over a decade. When you creep the Candy Strike website you will find a quote from Elizabeth that says "I believe in fearless fashion, in smirks, in unapologetic displays of style, in happy-sassy girls strutting their stuff causing mischief and fun wherever they go. I believe in being nice, but fierce. I believe in owning your presence though fashion. If you wear my designs you have to own your presence - and baby's it's beautiful." This quote by Denneau is everything to me, and one of the many reasons I shop Candy Strike and will continue to support Elizabeth's indie designs. If you're looking for unique, edgy and fun fashion creep Candy Strike. You will not be let down.
My beautiful Death Moth dress below is a hint of what is to come in the new collection Beautiful Creatures that drops for pre-order on July 1st. Beautiful Creatures is a limited edition collection so make sure you get in on the pre-order if you see any pieces you love. If an item is super popular it may not make its way back on the Candy Strike website for purchase after the pre-order period. I will say, you are going to NEED this super soft and stretchy skater dress to run around town in this summer. I wore my dress for the second time this past weekend to a faery festival with my family and I received lots of compliments; not only does the graphic look amazing, the dress itself is light and cool. I'm wearing a size 3X at a 24/26 and it fits great with lots of room to spare. This dress could easily fit a larger size due to the stretch in the fabric. I should also note the length of the dress; I'm 5'6" tall and this piece is the perfect length on me. I like when a skirt hits me just above me knees and this is exactly where this dress hits on me. I also recently placed an order with Candy Strike for some crop tops and a skater skirt. I can't wait to receive them and share details on those as well with you.

If you have any question about any of the other pieces I am wearing in this post please leave me a comment below.
