It's totally no secret I'm a huge Hell Bunny fan. I became a fan of this brand a few years ago, back when they didn't offer options in my size. I would still search them often on ebay and dreamt that some day they would carry a collection for plus size girls. A few years ago my dream came true when Hell Bunny started carrying sizes 2X-4X. I have been poor ever since!
Over the last few years I have purchased many Hell Bunny dresses and I have always wanted one of their fantastic coats. They came out with a collection last winter that was so adorable. It did not include plus sizes. I have done a lot of finger crossing this year and Facebook page posting about how much us curvy girls need cute winter coats. Someone over in bunny land heard my prayers because this winter they have an amazing collection of plus coats. Good job Hell Bunny for stepping up and producing lots of items for your plus size fans.

When I saw Hell Bunny post the collection of winter coats on their Facebook page a few weeks ago I knew I had to have one. I quickly messaged my girl Michelle over at Sweet Echo to see if she would be carrying them. Of course she was! She has impeccable taste and I can always count on her to have an amazing stock of HB. For anyone who is into this brand totally join her Facebook shop. She is always adding new items, but they get snagged up fast. I admit to checking her page daily. I might be a little obsessed.
I have to admit I was a little worried if this jacket would fit me. I'm a solid size 26/28 bottom and according to the size chart I'm too big for this jacket. I wanted the coat so bad it was worth a risk. I ordered a size 4X and according to the size chart it fits a 48" bust and a 43 1/4" waist. I'm 4" larger in the bust and 6" larger in the waist. While the coat has no stretch it's cut generous in this style. AWESOME!
I think this jacket is the perfect length. I'm 5'6" and it hit me right around the knees. I love the sweet anchor buttons on the front of this coat. 4 of them are functional. The soft Black grosgrain ribbon trim on the hem, collar and cuffs is also a nice touch. The inside of the jacket is lined in black silk. This jacket is not super warm. I don't want anyone to think when they buy this jacket it will be an all winter every day love affair. At least it can't be for me. I live in Canada and things can get pretty bitter in the heart of winter. I will be able to use this coat for travels to and from parties and shopping. I just won't be doing any long hikes in it. I feel so pretty and feminine in this coat.

I'm a total sucker for an 80's teen romantic comedy. A juicy film about love, and 80's social cliques, that's infused with an order of fashion and a kick ass soundtrack! It leaves me satisfied like no other. Pretty in Pink is on the top of my list. This month's blog hop theme is Pretty in Pink so it only made sense that I paid tribute to this totally rad film.
When our blog hop topic was decided I knew I wanted to do a modern take on this John Hughes classic. The one thing that has always bothered me about the film is the ending. In my perfect world Andie would have ended up with Duckie, they would have got married, and had millions of babies. I'm a huge sucker for the Duckman. He is totally my perfect guy. Kind of like my husband who reminds me consistently of Duckie.

I'm so stoked to have been able to get my real life Duckman to agree to help me out with this post. Duckie always had amazing style. Always marching to the beat of his own dumb and styling thrift styles. This is the path I took when styling up my husband. Everything he is wearing is second hand with the exception of the hat and sunglasses. The hat is from Spencer's about 5 years ago and the glasses from Coastal. The boots are amazing vintage Doc Martins and were picked up from a Facebook clothing group called Fattoo Accessora. Everything else was picked up at Value Village or the Salvation Army. I feel the whole outfit has a 1980's vibe but a 2013 fit.
I finished off off my husbands look with a few accessories. My favorite detail of this look is the heart shaped Andie pin I made for his jacket.
I have to admit I was a little bit afraid of my look. I never ever wear pink let alone pink covered in unicorns and cupcakes. I didn't always have a issue with pink, back in 2003 I went through a phase where I colored my hair hot pink and picked up the nick name "Jem". This totally makes me giggle today because I'm so not like Jem and more like the Misfits.
I won this dress a few months ago in a really amazing contest on Facebook. The dress is Hell Bunny (Size 4X) and it comes from Glamour Kitten. Glamour Kitten has lots of super gnarly Hell Bunny dresses. Not everything comes in plus size so shoot her a message if you are looking for a certain style. They are located in the UK. If you're looking for a retailer a little closer to home you can check out Sweet Echo. This is where I got the white Hell Bunny petticoat from that I'm wearing under the dress. Sweet Echo sells a large amount of plus sized Hell Bunny dresses and is located in Canada.
The white petticoat from Hell Bunny is in size L/XL. I'm a size 26 waist and this item fits me. It's tight, but I just wear it a little higher on my waist. I find this works fine because it's long. It's really designed for these longer vintage style dresses so keep that in mind when ordering.This petticoat comes in lots of colors so if you're looking for something specific shoot a message to Michelle the owner of Sweet Echo.
Back to the unicorns and cupcakes. While this style is not my norm, there is no disputing how fun and quirky it is. I'm a sucker for anything with skulls on it. This dress comes in black as well, which is nice for those who can't do pink. I totally
love my Hell Bunny dresses. I think I have seven or eight of them now and I
know this year I will be buying more. I'm totally excited for some

To finish off my Pretty in Pink style I added some black items and some kitschy jewelry. I added the black because I really wanted the pink to pop. I tried on purple and pink cardigans with this look, but they really didn't seem to be working.
I think the black shrug, belt and boots tie everything together nicely. It had to be boots because boots with a dress is so very, very, 1980s.
Last I would like to discuss my jewelry. I fear I'm becoming predictable, but I always have a strong vision in my mind and I really can't purchase the items I imagine. Jewelry is made by myself and you can find my stuff at Everyday is like Halloween. I found an image of the adorable unicorns on my dress and made double brooches for my cardigan. I wrapped up the whole look with a Pretty in Pink tribute pendant necklace. This is my favorite part about my whole look.

This whole outfit was totally influenced by The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It's kind of like if Columbia and Eddie got together and made a clothing baby. I think this look is insanely bad ass! The skirt I will be picking up for sure!!
To all appearances it'snot a surprise that Halloween is my favorite time of year. If you know me well you know that I live every day like it's Halloween. Most everything in my home is Halloween themed, most of the time I feel like the love child of Bela Lugosi and Elvira, and if I went a week without watching a horror film I would probably shrivel and die. To some this might be a tad dramatic, but I tell no lies...DIE!

My first Halloween outfit consists mostly of items purchased from Etsy. To those of you who don't know Etsy
is an e-commerce website focused on handmade or vintage items
as well as art and craft supplies. These items cover a wide range
including art, photography, clothing, jewelry, food, bath and beauty
products, quilts, knick-knacks, and toys. I own a shop on Etsy called
Everyday is like Hallowen. You can find a link for my Etsy shop alongside of my blog page. I have been buying from Etsy for a number of years
and love all the unique and interesting items I have purchased. Recently I was seeking out fashion designers who will custom make
items in my size. I wasn't having much luck until I found an amazing shop called Rebel Downtown. I
picked up this wicked classic movie monster skirt from Rebel. I had
been eying many Etsy pages for a long time to buy an item in this fabric,
but every time I found something I loved it never came in my size.
Rebel Downtown was the first page that I found that had larger sized
items. Her size chart goes to 45" but she will make the item larger if
you just shoot her a message. She is amazing and willing to work with
you to make you 100% happy. You will not be disappointed with any of her
items. Other items include super sweet purses and cosmetic bags. I
should also mention as a bonus in my order I got as free monster fabric
purse mirror. That's awesome customer service.
My sweater is 50% Etsy and 50% from Old Navy. I picked the sweater up last spring at Old Navy for about $20 and ordered these spooky Frankenstein hand patches from Cool Patches to iron on. I'm a big fan of adding patches to clothing to make it more Stina styles. Cool Patches has tons of different themed patches to pick from. I can't wait to buy some to add to a jean jacket for fall.

Last i would like to mention my accessories. The Frankenstein plugs were a gift so I'm not 100% sure where they were purchased. There is a page on Etsy called Super Plugs that make plugs very similar to mine. They seem to be a reasonable price for super cute Franky plugs. The Count Frightenstein necklace was made by me! Just got this Domino Dollhouse tank dress in the mail this week. When I saw it posted about a
month ago I knew I had to have it. This is a limited edition dress and
Domino Dollhouse is known for selling out of styles quickly. You snooze
you lose ladies so giddy up!
I ordered a size 3X and it fits pretty much perfect on my 24/26 frame. I
say pretty much because the bust was a tiny bit big under the arms and I
had to put in a couple stitches to have it fit perfect. It wasn’t a bad
fit, but I’m crazy weird about any extra material hanging loose away from my skin.
This dress is a really nice light cotton spandex blend with lots of
stretch. The only area of the dress that does not stretch is the
stitching under the bust so make sure you refer to the size chart when
ordering.
I’m super psyched I picked this one up, it’s super easy to wear, its
light and flowy and can totally be dressed up or down. Thanks DD<3
